Privacy

Every simulation runs entirely in your browser. You play without an account, and nothing you enter in a game leaves your device. The only personal information we receive is what you send us through the contact form.

The short version

Last updated: 8 October 2026

01Who we are

This policy covers the website Can You Run This? at canyourunthis.com (“the site”, “we”, “us”), a free, non-commercial library of decision simulations. We don’t show ads, take payments or have user accounts. If you have a question about this policy or your information, use the contact page.

02Playing the simulations

Every simulation runs entirely in your web browser. The prices, staff numbers, budgets and other choices you enter are calculated on your device and are not sent to us or to anyone else. There is no game server or database: the only part of the site that runs on our server is the contact form.

To make the site more useful, your browser saves two small things for each simulation using its built-in local storage:

This information stays on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not a cookie. To remove it, clear this site’s data in your browser settings (often under “Cookies and site data”). Private or incognito windows discard it when you close them.

03Reports and PDFs

When you copy a debrief or save it as a PDF, the report is created in your browser and saved to your device. We do not receive a copy. If you share a report, you decide who sees it.

04When you contact us

If you send a message through the contact form, we receive:

We use this only to read and reply to your message, and to fix bugs or consider ideas you send. The form sends your message straight to our inbox by email. It is not saved on our server or in any database, and we don’t keep it: once we’ve dealt with it, we delete it.

The form itself does not record your IP address (the request still appears in our host’s standard server logs, like any page visit). To block spam it uses a hidden field that only bots fill in and checks that the form wasn’t submitted unrealistically fast; neither check stores anything about you.

05Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, are not used to identify you or build a profile, and are deleted on the host’s normal schedule.

06Third parties

The site does not load outside services. Fonts and the PDF tool are served from our own server, so visiting the site does not send your information to Google, social networks or advertising companies. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

07Your choices and rights

Because we don’t keep contact messages or accounts, we normally hold nothing about you. If you think we do, or you want a message you just sent deleted before we reply, ask through the contact page and we will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

08Children

The simulations are suitable for students and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we don’t keep contact messages, nothing a child sends us is stored after we reply.

09Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change means we start collecting something new, we will say so clearly on this page before it takes effect.
