01Using the site
These terms apply to the website Can You Run This? at canyourunthis.com (“the site”, “we”, “us”), a free, non-commercial educational project. We don’t sell anything, show ads or take payments. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
02Not advice
The simulations run entirely in your browser. Each one uses invented figures and simplified rules to show how decisions affect money over time. Customer demand, costs, interest rates, market returns, funding offers and events are modeled, not drawn from real data for any specific business, place or market.
Nothing on the site is financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting or business advice. Results such as “Thriving” or “Market Wizard” describe how you did inside the game, not what would happen if you made the same choices in real life. Before making real decisions about money, a business or investments, speak to a qualified professional who knows your situation.
03Dates and occasions
Some simulations place events on a calendar, including Islamic occasions. Islamic dates are estimates and can differ by a day or more from local announcements based on moon sighting. They are included to make the simulations feel realistic, not as a religious or official calendar.
04Fair use
Please don’t:
- attempt to disrupt, overload or break into the site or the server it runs on,
- use the contact form to send spam, advertising, or abusive or unlawful messages,
- use automated tools to copy the site in bulk, or
- present the site, or a copy of it, as your own.
05Ownership and sharing
The site’s design, text, simulation models and code belong to us. You may use the site for personal, educational and classroom purposes.
The debrief reports and PDFs you create are yours to keep and share, including in classes, presentations and social media posts. A mention of the site is appreciated. To republish the simulations themselves, for example by copying them to another website, please ask us first.
06Ideas and feedback
If you send us an idea for a new simulation or a suggestion for an existing one, we may use it to improve the site without owing you payment or credit. We are grateful for it all the same.
07No guarantees
This is a free project run on a best-effort basis. We work to keep the simulations accurate and the site available, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that your saved best results will always be kept, since they are stored in your browser and can be cleared.
08Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that results from relying on the simulations, their results or reports, including business, investment or financial losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
09Changes
We may add, change or remove simulations, and we may update these terms. When the terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
