Can You Run a Private School for a Year?

You’ve taken over a small private school: 200 students are due back in September, the building is rented, and the previous owner charged $8,500 a year. Tuition arrives three times a year. Salaries go out every month, including July and August. And the reputation you build in the classroom won’t show up in your bank account until next year’s families decide where to send their children.

How it plays

  1. August · Before the doors open — Set up the school year
  2. January · Term 2 — Hold the middle of the year
  3. April · Term 3 — Inspection, staff and next year’s fees
  4. July · Summer — The long summer, and next September

After the debrief, “Run year two” continues the run with calendar events, new challenges and opportunities that build on what you chose earlier. Every decision page has a live preview that shows what your picks do to the numbers before you lock them in.

What you get at the end

A debrief with your outcome, charts of where the money went, your biggest mistake and roughly what it cost, and a full report you can copy or save as a PDF. Everything runs in your browser: no sign-up, nothing to install.
