An investing-under-pressure simulation

Can You Survive a Stock Market Crash?

You have $120,000 of your own money in the market: an index fund, your employer’s stock, a hot chip stock, some bonds, and a $42,000 margin loan you took out when things were going well. Markets are at an all-time high. They won’t be for long. Manage your portfolio through a crash, fake rebounds and screaming headlines. At the end you’re compared with the simplest plan there is: the same money in a plain index fund, never touched.

How it plays

  1. Weeks 1–3 · The top — Set up for the storm
  2. Weeks 4–6 · The drop — The first real fall
  3. Weeks 7–9 · The fake rebound — Is the bottom in?
  4. Weeks 10–12 · Capitulation — The worst of it

After the debrief, “Keep going — through the recovery” continues the run with calendar events, new challenges and opportunities that build on what you chose earlier. Every decision page has a live preview that shows what your picks do to the numbers before you lock them in.

What you get at the end

A debrief with your outcome, charts of where the money went, your biggest mistake and roughly what it cost, and a full report you can copy or save as a PDF. Everything runs in your browser: no sign-up, nothing to install.
